forward in audio recorder technology. Quite simply, it

   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
the latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
engineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
, d% ]5 _& i6 i" u+ q! Q$ Mcapabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
0 M5 f6 m" X8 a: |. q4 I9 ~: J, Y, Pprocessor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
gives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
/ m& @4 I+ E( r2 \at all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
one autolocate position are always at hand.
- v. J  U. H8 M   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
three "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
variety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
) Z; _6 a! c: ^  clocate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
! @: D' M0 b3 Y' I  qdump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can

! l; |) @& D6 }1 U% nparameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
pad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
0 e% W! I4 H7 a2 z6 mprogramming alignments into the A810's memory, you
simply push a button to re-align when switching tape
formulations.
     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
electronics with our choice of either transformerless or
  _) F; L7 D7 r, I% Z# Otransformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
phase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
7 o! i9 K, z! T5 d6 r' Y+ W3 ilinearity. The new transport control servo system responds
9 f( \7 j2 R4 s0 u- T/ d' t5 p) }quickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
( S/ S/ i  X" N* k% c1 u. B     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
( h" e, K( e1 F$ toffers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
5 u0 }# G' Q4 _between stereo audio channels. Separate time code
& C: z/ Z$ K1 q! oheads auido/code crosstalk of better
# W, C- T# S7 J2 R/ f: Vthan 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
' N3 q, t: I. ?2 ]compensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
0 j8 n/ x' x3 J7 v- ?audio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
