   With the new A810, Studer makes a quantum leap
forward in audio recorder technology. Quite simply, it
re-states the art of analog audio recording.
( q" O# w# H5 P$ v   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
the latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
6 P+ X9 L0 ~3 A" p6 i! I: I! b. vengineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
2 A3 G5 O7 q8 |2 t1 p5 A& Scapabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
% U, ?. B* J* P6 b5 p* cprocessor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
) i( [% C2 j; S$ F30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
! Q  f( _7 M9 t0 K4 ~9 V- _+ y6 Lgives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
at all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
one autolocate position are always at hand.
# g& N# Y) t0 K; K4 t) H, O   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
three "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
7 c" S- ~2 R# y9 `" j$ L- uvariety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
locate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
dump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
program your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
re-program it later for another use.
    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
+ \. Y7 q8 E) f5 ?' Fparameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
pad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
programming alignments into the A810's memory, you
simply push a button to re-align when switching tape
' v/ O0 b  q& [5 z) E  kformulations.
     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
5 ?; @, [; Q- {! K2 g1 ^# @electronics with our choice of either transformerless or
transformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
phase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
linearity. The new transport control servo system responds
, j1 p/ z/ y, e9 n( |. \* ^" e: zquickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
offers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
between stereo audio channels. Separate time code
& I7 T+ v  Z3 @1 f5 ~heads auido/code crosstalk of better
# P9 }+ y! E: i6 v9 m" Mthan 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
+ z7 C+ F' d" s  }& hcompensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
. [# s7 U6 N& A8 _$ c0 ^audio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
. R& i! u1 z& ~) ]- y8 zExcept you only the "4" tape. (?)
