5 `) F0 x- D% C$ {* v) i  ?   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
' q# c# ~! x; I, athe latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
4 Q0 U" C$ t# \* Yengineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
capabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
processor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
' }3 i( H+ T, v3 f30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
3 m' x5 i6 m: L) b; K5 wgives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
3 A1 J9 g  I+ t$ S' \6 H! ~7 rat all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
5 b/ W% ], L  n- n8 o" @1 u7 a, D3 q1 f% Mone autolocate position are always at hand.
   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
& o7 r, W% [. g) n! \2 w4 i+ [three "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
variety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
locate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
, _" U+ Q+ D& I: T+ \* ~: K8 [dump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
/ ?7 B+ _" H0 j& k2 Uprogram your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
re-program it later for another use.
% `2 `; z- ]0 G( h+ K    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
3 p1 \1 D8 |  l" q* pparameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
3 C# u2 x. m' W9 W- Cpad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
( _0 k! g' y6 W( ~programming alignments into the A810's memory, you
% \% S! k7 R8 `simply push a button to re-align when switching tape
formulations.
     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
3 D- m- J3 d. v% {electronics with our choice of either transformerless or
transformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
4 R! s. _2 ]7 H$ Pphase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
$ r8 y8 P3 T4 ^linearity. The new transport control servo system responds
- b$ H7 x* T: y1 Tquickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
8 p' ~! p( c! i" S/ @     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
& p; B9 I" x, J) m- Soffers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
; O4 x8 H7 ?- s5 g8 gbetween stereo audio channels. Separate time code
heads auido/code crosstalk of better
than 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
compensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
2 r6 y# i+ d3 L% }( D& ]% Z; [2 ~audio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.

     If you'd like computer control of an these functions,

with RS232, RS422, and RS422 modified (??)
